Questions
What are we making?
A one-of-one fairy-tale children's book with Helena as the hero, made from the character choices, memories, jokes and hopes of the people who love her, alongside a separate way to give to her education fund.
Will my exact story appear in the book?
Every contribution is kept in Helena's private archive, and selected memories and ideas shape the finished book. Everyone who contributes can still be listed as an author.
Who writes the final story?
A human editor at Dear World, together with Robert and Nubia, shapes the contributions into one coherent book. AI helps with the drafting, but people make every final decision.
Where does the money go?
Contributions go directly through Helena's education-account provider. Dear Helena and Dear World do not collect, hold or process the money.
Do I need to give money?
No. The book and the fund are separate ways to take part. Your story is a gift on its own.
Can I contribute in Portuguese?
Yes. You can take part in English or Brazilian Portuguese, and we keep your words exactly as you wrote them.
Can I edit my submission later?
Yes. After you submit, we email you a private link to view, edit, add photos or change how your name appears.
How will my name appear?
Your choice: with your name, anonymously as one of Helena's first believers, or kept private for the family only.
Can my photograph be used only as illustration reference?
Yes. Photo permissions are independent: you can let the illustrator study a photo without allowing the original to be printed in the book.
What happens after the deadline?
The first edition closes so the book can be written and illustrated. Later contributions stay in the archive and may join a future edition.
Before you arrived, Helena, we asked the people who love you to help tell your story. This book is how your village says hello, and the fund is how they help you choose what comes next.
